German fest to host Iranian short ‘Talker’

Iranian short flick ‘Talker’ has been selected to compete at the 34 edition of the Exground Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Mehrshad Ranjbar, the 13-minute film tells the story of an old woman who has taken care of her sick husband for many years, but an incident disturbs the order of her life.

The cast list of the short film includes Maryam Nourafkan and Abbas Jalallou.

‘Talker’ has previously won the best film award at the Tirana International Film Festival in Albania and the Ischia Film Festival in Italy.

According to the official website of the festival, “the organizers put together a worthwhile program featuring over 120 productions – a cross-section of international cinema’s class of 2019/20, chosen from over 2,500 short and feature-length film submissions”.

The 2021 edition of the event is scheduled for November 12-21.
